The Recreation Committee is a Sub-advisory Committee of the Parks Committee and they meet the third Thursday of each month. All are invited to attend.
Some programs/activities offered are: Town Wide Garage Sale, Summer Camp, Holiday Lighting Contest, etc. Please check back often since many of these programs are time sensitive and seasonal. All programs are open to both Township and Borough residents. Look for special events and trips all year round!

Free Summer Concert Series Schedule An introduction to everyday etiquette for boys and girls 7-12 years old.
This 2-hour workshop will introduce the students to the do’s and don’ts of everyday etiquette and dining etiquette. The children will acquire the tools needed to properly handle today’s real life social situations. The format of this class is fun and interactive with lots of role-playing, allowing the children to practice their new skills.
This program is conducted by a certified manners expert and the staff includes both professional educators and trainers.
Topics Covered: Speaking with confidence, party manners, conversational skills, dining etiquette, place setting, silverware rules, telephone skills, proper greetings, introductions, first impressions, handshake, respectfulness, body language, hosting and serving guests, carpool manners and sleep-over etiquette.

Chester Township & Chester Borough Recreation presents Smartsitter Baby Sitting Course on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 9:00am to 2:30pm at The Field House (Chester Borough, Seminary Avenue)
Cost is $45.00 per student ages 11 to 15.
Each student receives a SmartSitter manual to accompany them to baby-sitting jobs and a SmartSitter certificate.
Please fill out the attached form and return to: Chester Township Recreation, 1 Parker Road, Chester, NJ 07930. Registration can be done by mail or in person. No registration will be final until payment is received. Registrations are limited and will be based on first come, first serve.
Sports Programs for Kids -
We are pleased to offer many exciting sports programs for kids through the US Sports Institute and United Soccer Academy. All programs are conveniently located at The Grove Street Park and are geared for children ages 3 through 14. Multi Sports camps, Sports Squirts, Soccer and more are all offered through a program of non-competitive activities and fun games. Star Gazing Party for the whole family, Friday, July 16, 2010 at 8:00pm. CHESTER TOWNSHIP SUMMER RECREATION CAMP 2010 -
This highly popular camp is for children entering first grade through entering 8th grade (Fall 2010). The program will run (6) one week sessions from June 28 through August 6, 2010. Program cost is $145 per week if you register before June 11th and $165 per week if you register after June 11th. (Week 2 cost $130.00) Trips are included in this years' fee.
Children will enjoy a variety of supervised activities including games, arts and crafts, swimming, entertainment and fieldtrips and will receive a t-shirt if registered by June 11th! Enrollment in the Summer Recreation Program is on a first-come, first serve basis. Space is limited and fills up quickly. There is no Wait List option available. Tennis Lessons for Adults and Children -
By request! We are thrilled to again offer you group tennis instruction under the direction of acclaimed Drew University Head Coach, Jeff Brandes. Lessons are offered on a variety of levels for five weeks on Wednesdays beginning May 19th through June 16th at the Grove Street Tennis Courts.
