Chester Township Recreation Committee is comprised of seven volunteers residing in the Township who are responsible for suggesting and assisting with recreation programs and activities in the community. Monthly meetings are held the third Monday of every month at 10:30am at Chester Township Municipal Hall, second floor conference room. Chester Township Municipal Hall is located at 1 Parker Rd, Chester. The public is invited to attend these monthly meetings. Some programs/activities offered are: Town Wide Garage Sale, Summer Camp, Holiday Lighting Contest, etc. Please check back often since many of these programs are time sensitive and seasonal. All programs are open to both Township and Borough residents. Look for special events and trips all year round!

Annual Family Skate Night

Annual Family Skate Night - Our 8th annual family skate night will be hosted at Chubb Pond this year! Stay tuned for details on this fun way to spend time with your family and neighbors. Event will take place in February, more info to be announced at a later date.

Bowlings for Seniors

Chester Borough & Chester Township Recreation have partnered with Circle Lanes of Ledgewood to offer Winter bowling leagues for Seniors. The Winter Senior leagues consist of three people per team and you can sign up your own team or be paired up with a team, individuals & beginners welcomed. Winter league is a ten week program with two timeslots offered for convenience - Mondays at 9:30am and Weds at 1pm. Monday league begins Jan 9th and runs through March 12th. Weds league begins Jan 11th and runs through March 14th. Cost is $6 per week and includes 3 games of league play, free shoe rental, first week free, 1st place trophies and chance to win free games. Chester Running Club

Are you a running enthusiast and are looking to connect with other people who share your passion? Then the Chester Running Club is just for you. Members typically meet at the Columbia Trail in Long Valley on Sunday mornings at 9am. The trail is flat and very safe. People can elect to do whatever distance they're comfortable with and whatever pace they like to keep. There are mile markers along the trail. The group is co-ed and all ages and skill levels are welcomed. (Children must be accompanied by adults).

The best way for people to get connected into Chester Runners is to find us on Facebook. We are listed as "Chester Runners" on Facebook. They can "friend" us and will receive event notifications for all future runs or send an email to Ali, the Chester Running Club coordinator, at: redskydiver1@yahoo.com. Your name will get added to the e-mail distribution list to keep you notified of future runs. The runs are at your own risk and Chester Recreation does not provided accident insurance for this club.

CPR Classes

The Chester First Aid Squad presents AHA Heartsaver CPR/AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Classes at the Chester First Aid Squad Building, 100 North Road (Highlands Ridge Park) on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm or on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Reservations required by emailing ccchampi@aol.com. Each class is limited to 12 participants and the cost is $40 per person.

Let's Bloom Together - Go Green

Let's Bloom Together Go Green - 4 week program for kids. Let's Bloom Together is an enrichment program that provides fun and engrossing environmental science lessons that include horticultural activities that help to develop an appreciation for nature, provides practical application of environmental stewardship and life lessons. At the end of the program, each child will get to bring home their own projects, and continue their involvement beyond the 4 week class time. Ages 4-10 Monday at 4:30 to 5:15 1/16/12 and 1/23 1/30 and 2/6 Cost: $50 per student, includes all materials. No refunds. Location: Chester Borough's Field House, 107 Seminary Ave, Chester. Must have a minimum of 20 students to host the class - Registrants will be notified if we do not meet the minimum. Take your Kid to Game Day

Chester Township & Chester Borough Recreation have partnered with Centenary College Cyclones to bring you "take your kid to game day". Children 14 and under are free, adults are $3.00. Free give-a-ways for all children, meet the team plus autographs. Centenary Women vs. Keystone College on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 1pm and Centenary Men vs. Keystone College on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 3pm. Games are played at Reeves Student Recreation Center, Folkner Family Gymnasium. For more information please contact the Centenary Athletic Department at: athletics@centenarycollege.edu.

Chester Township residents are welcome to participate. There are four dates: Sundays - January 8, 22, 29 & February 12, 2012. Sign up early.
