Chester Township Recreation Committee is comprised of seven volunteers residing in the Township who are responsible for suggesting and assisting with recreation programs and activities in the community. Monthly meetings are held the third Monday of every month at 10:30am at Chester Township Municipal Hall, second floor conference room. Chester Township Municipal Hall is located at 1 Parker Rd, Chester. The public is invited to attend these monthly meetings. Some programs/activities offered are: Town Wide Garage Sale, Summer Camp, Holiday Lighting Contest, etc. Please check back often since many of these programs are time sensitive and seasonal. All programs are open to both Township and Borough residents. Look for special events and trips all year round!

First Play Field Hockey, 7/28-8/1, 5:30-7pm, ages 6-12, Black River Field, $110. Aimed at beginner/intermediate level players wishing to learn and develop their knowledge of the sport. Integration of both technical and tactical components will ensure each child walks away with a comprehensive understanding of the sport. The US Sports Institute can provide all equipment for this class. Players should bring shin-guards, sticks can be provided by USSI. Cleats and water bottle suggested for play. Held at the Black River Field on North Rd. There are no refunds for this class. Please check www.ussportsinstitute.com weather alerts page in case of inclement weather.
FREE! Outdoor movie nights in the park this summer! Bring the whole family on 7/25 to see The Lego Movie, a definite favorite with kids and grown-ups alike. Bring some lawn chairs, blankets, snacks, and a bunch of friends for a fun night out with fellow residents.

This Concert Series features free, live music outdoors at either Chubb Park or the Gazebo on Main Street in Chester and is open to all. Come relax and enjoy our beautiful park settings and our exciting free music!

Summer Movie & Animation Camp, August 11th - 15th, for ages 7 - 13 at The Highlands Ridge Barn, Chester Twp.
Lego Flix 9:00am - noon. We know you love Legos and can create incredible Lego worlds, now it’s time to bring those worlds to life in Lego Stop-Motion Animated Flix! We provide the Legos, and you provide your imagination. Students will create a Lego set with Lego characters for a movie they storyboard, write, shoot, and voice-over.
Filmmaking Flix 1:00pm - 4:00pm. Do you want to have a blast making a movie? You don’t have to be an actor to star in these movies that you make from “Action” to “That’s a wrap.” We’ll guide you through the Hollywood process as you brainstorm, location scout, bring in props and costumes, act and direct in a collaborative movie.
Cost: $165 for each camp, enroll in both camps for $310 and receive free lunch supervision.
Camp provided by Chester Township Recreation in cooperation with Incrediflix, bringing creativity and imagination to life!

Students Grades 2-5 and 6-9 Outdoors at the Grove Street Park Amphitheater, Grove Street, Chester, NJ. $285 per student
This two week enrichment camp includes 4 different programs designed to increase
confidence in students and includes snacks, and FREE performance on the last day! Learn Digital Moviemaking, Acting & Theatre, Student Leadership Experience, Screenwriting & Playwriting all utilizing the ThinkWork approach for critical thinking.
Program offered in cooperation with Newcastle Theatre. Indoor location to be provided in the event of rain.
